My group's research focuses on understanding what factors influence people's health, and interventions to address them. We design cross-sectional and longitudinal studies to describe diseases in populations, identify risk factors, and quantify associations. Our aim is to provide unique datasets to address grand challenges in health through interdisciplinary collaborations. We explore questions such as:
- How do preconception lifestyle behaviors and exposure to environmental pollutants impact disease development and birth outcomes?
- What mechanisms are involved in these relationships?
- What is the impact of improved lifestyle and environment on health and birth outcomes?
Ongoing Research
- Develop large-scale cross-sectional and longitudinal studies and generate a comprehensive library of biological samples.
- Strengthen evidence linking climate change, environmental and nutritional exposures to health and advance understanding of underlying mechanisms.
- Estimate effects of hypothetical interventions on exposure distributions and intermediate risk factors.
